It is with deep regret that the Darien-Woodridge Fire District announces the unexpected death of Battalion Chief Patrick Foley on January 27, 2009.  Foley, age 47, was a career member of our Fire District for 22 years.  He rose through the ranks and was appointed Battalion Chief in 2006.  In addition to his career at Darien-Woodridge, he served as a member of the Westmont Fire Department for 18 years, where he held the rank of Captain.  Patrick lived in unincorporated Downers Grove and is survived by a wife and son.
